LAGUNA POOLS COLOR PLASTER DISCLOSURE |
| |
Laguna Pools, Inc. does not recommend plastering a swimming pool in any other color than white for several reasons: |
| |
Safety |
Visual depth perception is impaired - a swimmer cannot readily determine the depth of the water. Colored pools are therefore, deemed less safe and by the signatures below, Laguna Pools, Inc. is hereby released from any liability should an accident occur in this regard. |
| |
Discoloration |
Color variations in the plaster will most certainly occur in several forms - primarily in lighter colored streaking and mottling. Minerals from the cement in the plaster itself, from cement in the surrounding pool structure, from the water that fills the pool, as well as, from chemicals used in the pool, will cause discoloration. Laguna Pools, Inc. is hereby released from this responsibility. |
| |
Integrity of the Plaster |
The plaster coating of the interior of a swimming pool is the process by which the pool is "waterproofed" or sealed against the transfer of water through the concrete shell. When additives, such as colors (pigment dyes), are mixed with plaster, a certain diluting of the "waterproofing" and bonding characteristics takes place. This diluting action varies with the amount of color added, hence Laguna Pools, Inc. will require that you or your representative be present when the first batch of plaster is mixed to direct the addition of color in order to obtain, as close as possible, the shading desired. |
| |
It must be noted that Laguna Pools, Inc. recommends that color not be added to the plaster and will do so only with the agreement that Laguna Pools, Inc. is released from the liability and responsibility of safety, discoloration and integrity of the plaster, as contained herein. |
